Finding Yourself

When I first get home from work, I gather up the dog and head to the lake. It's a time to myself when I can shrug off the trials and tribulations of the day. Peace. The first part of the walk is pretty rugged on Angel - she runs through the fields hither and thither - enjoying her freedom and independence. It brings me joy watching her enjoyment - sometimes I speak to her as she runs - encouraging her.
By the time we reach the lake, the time is all mine to sit, and watch, and smell and listen to nature - each time a different sensation, never quite the same. Tonight it was still and the geese came close, not in any hurry ... content to paddle in circles, in tandum, in front of me. Calming.

Watching them brings me my contentment.

As I sit, Angel comes close and listens to me talk to her as we watch the lake, together.

Evening approaches as I savor time well spent nourishing my soul.

A good listener ... a good companion ... a good friend.

Other Good Friends.

Come on dave, let's go home.

Goodbye friends ... good night lake ... until we return again.
