These are difficult days ... trying to fill my foodstuffs for the coming cold, icy, and barren winter months ... and there's lots of competition for my precious nuts. It starts with catching just one ... I'm driven by complex instinctive survival modes. It's scary for an old man getting so high up in the limbs and the terrible creatures that reside there. Man is an invader, top of the food chain - we take what we want, ... until.
My nut stores grow.
The initial capture is the most terrifying period, much confusion amongst the nuts, snatched from the trees awaiting an unknown fate.
Nuts wating to be screened, weighed and numbered.
An ever watchful eye for those that would steal master's nuts.
Upfront, the leaders of the nuts ... "what are your demands".
Nuts, screened.
Driving the squirrels and wolverines back into the trees. "Good girl, Angel ... you earned your keep today", we're partners, a good team.
Where the nut pushing began ... then the uprising ... it was terrible ... I had to bring out the nutcrackers to quell the revolt ... many were smashed, "hey, you nuts in the back, knock it off".
Stacked and ready to be put into the nut vault.
An attempted nut escape.
Guarding nuts is exhausting work, master.
